The Festival is a 10 day celebration of bikes and the people who love to ride them: It's all about the bike...and more!
It is packed with events for both weekend warriors and hardened pros. Whether you're a cross country rider, downhiller, freerider, roadie or a bit of all four - this Festival has something for you.
We are currently working on the full 2014 programme - mark your calendar, 12th to 20th April 2014 - in the meantime, you can have a look at what we've done in the past and get a taste of things to come.
With over 25 events from films, to concerts, photography competition, social rides, ladies rides, kids rides, fun races and down-to-business races - it's all biking all the time, just the way we like it.
Queenstown has more than 110kms of established cross country trails, a gondola serviced bike park, world class road rides and more restaurants, bars, wineries and places to stay than you can think of.
All that's missing is you...
Bike Queenstown Charitable Trust
A note about the Organisers
The Bike Queenstown Charitable Trust was established in December 2011 and the trust’s stated main aim is to foster, promote, advocate for the use of bicycles in the region. The Queenstown Bike Festival is a vehicle to achieve one of its goals.
The current trustees are the Chair, John Thompson of Wakatipu New World, and Tom Pryde, lawyer, Ron Mackersey, lawyer with the Trust currently seeking one more Board member.
Southern Traverse Ltd has been appointed as the organisation to operate and manage the Queenstown Bike Festival.
This technically demanding course, starting at the top of the Queenstown Bike Park, will be approximately 3km long and will finish in Brecon Street in front of a large crowd.
Come and check out some of world’s best freeriders up close and personal as they perfect their technique for the first FMB World Tour event in NZ.
This "wacky" event of the festival is not to be missed. Held in true League of Gentlemen style, the LoG teams up with The Find to host the 16inch World Championship
